Sierra EV questions, answered

What are the 2026 GMC Sierra EV trims, and how much do they cost?

The 2026 Sierra EV comes in Elevation, AT4, and Denali trims, and every one uses a 2-motor e4WD system. The Elevation starts at a $62,400 MSRP, the Denali at $69,700, and the AT4 at $79,300, before destination freight, taxes, title, and fees. The Elevation adds a 16.8-inch infotainment system, a power-open eTrunk, and heated front seats and steering wheel. The AT4 adds Super Cruise, 35-inch all-terrain tires, and 4-Wheel Steer with CrabWalk. The Denali adds Super Cruise and 22-inch wheels, with available Energy Transfer Pro and Air Ride Adaptive Suspension. GMC lists each trim on its Sierra EV page.

Which battery pack should I choose, and how far will the Sierra EV go?

GMC lists range by trim and battery. The Elevation and Denali with the Standard Range battery are EPA-estimated at up to 283 miles, and with the Extended Range battery at up to 410 miles. The AT4 comes with the Extended Range battery and is GM-estimated at up to 390 miles. The available Max Range Battery Pack is GM-estimated at up to 478 miles on the AT4 and Denali. In GMC’s Build and Price tool, the Extended Range battery adds about $8,200 to the Elevation and to the Denali compared with the Standard Range battery. Real-world range varies with speed, temperature, terrain, and load, and you can compare trims in GMC’s Build and Price tool.

How much power does the Sierra EV make?

GMC lists a standard 605 horsepower on the Elevation, which it calls a best-in-class standard rating. On the Denali, GMC lists up to 760 horsepower, up to 785 lb-ft of torque, and 0 to 60 mph in about 4.5 seconds with the available equipment. Max Power Mode is an available feature in the Driver Mode Control app that unlocks additional horsepower, faster acceleration, and up to 100 more lb-ft of torque. GMC details the Denali on its Sierra EV Denali page.

How fast can the Sierra EV charge, and how do I charge it?

GMC lists available 800V public DC fast charging of up to 120 miles in approximately 10 minutes with the available Max Range Battery Pack. At home, GM offers the GM PowerUP 2 Level 2 charger at up to 11.5 kW and the hardwired GM Energy PowerShift charger at up to 19.2 kW, and both require professional installation. Away from home, GM EV drivers have access to more than 250,000 public chargers, and the myGMC app with Energy Pass helps activate access to the Supercharger network with a NACS DC adapter. The in-vehicle Energy App lets you set a charging schedule and precondition the battery. GMC explains the options in its EV charging overview.

Can the Sierra EV power my tools, gear, or home?

GMC offers Energy Transfer with 7.2 kW of off-boarding power in the Denali Premium Package and the available Energy Transfer Pro with up to 10.2 kW of off-boarding power, which uses the available GM Accessories PowerBar+ so you can plug in gear wherever you are. GMC also says a compatible EV can provide power to a properly equipped home in a blackout with the GM Energy V2H Enablement Kit and a GM Energy PowerShift Charger. Ask our team which equipment fits the trim you want.

How much can the Sierra EV tow, and what storage does it have?

GMC lists available towing of up to 12,500 pounds on the Sierra EV Denali, and towing ratings depend on the trim, battery, and equipment, so confirm the rating for the exact truck. The available ProGrade Trailering System, Rear Camera Mirror, and Bed View Camera help when you tow. For storage, the power-open eTrunk is a lockable weatherproof area in the front of the truck for luggage or gear, and the MultiPro Midgate is included in the available Premium Packages.

What technology and driver assistance come with the Sierra EV?

Every trim has a 16.8-inch diagonal Premium GMC Infotainment System with Google built-in compatibility. Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance with a 3-year OnStar One plan is standard on the AT4 and Denali, works on a growing network of compatible roads, and does not replace the driver’s responsibility to operate the vehicle safely. The AT4 also has a Head-Up Display. The Elevation Premium Package adds ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, and a 7-speaker Bose audio system.

Does the Sierra EV have Apple CarPlay?

No. GMC states that Apple CarPlay is not available in the Sierra EV. The truck uses a Google built-in infotainment system, and our team can show you how it works during a visit.

What off-road equipment does the Sierra EV AT4 have?

The AT4 comes with 35-inch diameter all-terrain tires, 2 inches of additional ground clearance, red front recovery hooks, and 4-Wheel Steer with CrabWalk, which lets the truck move diagonally at low speeds and helps with tight turns. Super Cruise and a Head-Up Display are also standard. Details are on GMC’s Sierra EV AT4 page.

Does the Sierra EV qualify for an EV tax credit?

GMC states that the federal clean vehicle tax credit, worth up to $7,500 for new EVs, expired on September 30, 2025, although eligible vehicles delivered on or before that date may still qualify. GMC also notes that some states offer rebates or credits for EVs and home charging equipment. We are not tax advisors, so please consult a tax professional, and see fueleconomy.gov for the latest program information.

What warranty covers the Sierra EV battery?

GMC’s limited warranty covers the propulsion battery pack and its internal components for 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. It applies when battery capacity falls below 75 percent of its original value during that period, as determined by a certified dealer. A new GMC also carries bumper-to-bumper coverage for 3 years or 36,000 miles. Confirm the terms for the specific truck on GMC’s EV battery life page and warranty page.
